The Osaka Castle is one of the many great castles in Japan, and is located near the major cities of Kyoto and Nara. A great location for any nearby tourist or inhabitant. This was built by one of the three great unifiers, Toyotomi Hideyoshi in 1586 using the common Rinkaku style. “Built on the great slope, formerly housing the cathedral of Ishiyama Honganji,” this building is filled with bright colors, and designs of ferocious animals on the exterior, as well as many different towers(Turnbull 143). With being the largest when built, and having great defense structures, the Osaka Castle is a prized possession filled with loads of Japanese history from the medieval times.
This shows the proximity of Osaka and the two major Japanese cities of Nara and Kyoto.
